The Plans
That We Create

RMD is comprised of a team of Certified Medical Dosimetrists who are experienced in various areas of the treatment planning process. Depending on your clinic’s needs, we will ensure our Dosimetrist is trained in the areas of needed support.

Three-dimensional conformal radiation therapy is a common treatment technique for many parts of the body. Our Dosimetrists shape the radiation beams to the target to protect normal healthy tissues. Different beam orientations and arrangements are used to shape the target dose to ensure organ at risk tolerances are met. Techniques such as field-in-field, irregular surface compensators, wedges, and conformal arcs are utilized by our Dosimetrists.

Volumetric Modulated Arc Therapy/Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy are two of the most common treatment techniques performed by our Dosimetrists at RMD. Our Dosimetrists utilize various beam/arc arrangements, optimization objectives, and optimization structures to ensure the target receives a conformal and robust dose distribution while reducing exposure to surrounding organs at risk.

Stereotactic body radiation therapy is a treatment technique that is becoming more common for treatment sites. Our Dosimetrists at RMD have experience planning treatment sites such as lung, spine, liver, prostate, adrenal, lymph nodes, and more. As hypofractionated treatments increase, Dosimetry support will be needed due to various complexities associated with SBRT planning.

Stereotactic radiosurgery is a procedure that utilizes both coplanar and non-coplanar isocentric arcs to deliver highly conformal dose distributions. Our Dosimetrists at RMD are experienced with linac-based SRS treatment planning using vmat, conformal arcs, and cones.

High dose rate brachytherapy is a method used to deliver radiation directly to the tumor site and surrounding area. Our Dosimetrists are experienced with 3D volumetric based treatment planning. It is important that an efficient system is established between the clinic and RMD to ensure HDR treatment planning is performed in a timely manner.

Low dose rate brachytherapy involves placing permanent radioactive seeds within the tumor site. Our Dosimetrists at RMD are experienced with performing all pre-planning processes for LDR prostate patients.
